Since 1945, the global debate on peace and war has been dominated by governments and institutions, leaving citizens sidelined. The Friends of Peace mark the rebirth of peace societies — a citizen‑driven movement that restores civil society’s role in shaping peace.

We stand for bottom‑up dialogue, where communities co‑create solutions, bridge divides, and prove that lasting peace is not decreed from above but built together from below.

Purpose

Our Association aims to promote peace, intercultural dialogue, and the non‑violent resolution of conflicts through educational, cultural, and social activities in Switzerland and abroad.
